Take the forgotten shell of Holt & Sons Auto Service shop in downtown Apex, inject care and attention along with a fantastic brewery concept and what do you get? Tapstation! Apex’s newest beer, burgers and bourbon joint. The murals commissioned for the interior and exterior of Tapstation were conceived to play off of the exciting gas and service station-themed decor. The external mural was the perfect opportunity to marry art and storytelling, showcasing a large tap literally drenching the silhouette of the town of Apex in beer and hops. Over all of this the ghost of the Holt & Sons sign presides above a sleek classic car.
The interior murals feature our original gas-pump robot character created for Tapstation, filling a mug with fresh beer from his pump. The owners of Tapstation truly are fearless, and utterly creative when it comes to approaching decor, and it shows with the fantastic front ends of classic cars, sheered off and affixed to the walls courtesy of the truly talented XXX. We capped off our interior work with a painted explosion accentuating the central car in the downstairs eatery. This project was a delight to bring to realization, and that was completely due to the easy-going and creative nature of the clients.
