Phillips Hall of the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill boasts the interesting bit of trivia that it was the first air-conditioned building in the South! Well, now it is home to a mural that not only invites students and visitors to “THINK!” with a panoply of colorful scientific iconography, but also represents the cross-current ramifications of those disciplines working together. This was a very labor-intensive, precise mural, but the work paid off with the clean, lively final product.
From dreary academic stairwell to fresh talking point and wayfinding device, “THINK!” covers all the bases. Not only that, but this was our first partnership with Arts Everywhere, a wonderful organization under the UNC umbrella dedicated to bringing Arts…Everywhere!
