Project Location: Watergate Hotel, Washington, DC
Client: George Washington University, Watergate Hotel
In 2019 NC Public Art was contacted for a very special project: a series of two large-scale paintings were commissioned to flank the entrance to the new George Washington University offices located in the world-famous Watergate Hotel. The paintings had to be speak to the history, the contemporary, the architecture, the location, and the legacy of the Watergate.
Working with our contact at George Washington University, we cycled through many iterations before hitting on the final design, a layered approach that distilled the required facets into one bold and dynamic whole. We’re proud to say we really delivered on this piece; the final product is testament to how well a project can come together when the creative shepherds are given good direction.
